After an early breakfast, we took a shuttle to the Kona airport. We flew from there to the Honolulu airport where we had several hours of layover before our flight back to LAX. We had expected delays because of the hurricane, but Flossie petered out before it hit the Big Island so Tuesday was the usual beautiful Hawaiian day and there were no delays because of weather The flight from HNL to LAX was uneventful and was about five hours in length. At LAX we had a layover and had a chance to get some food before continuing to DFW wherewe arrived abouit midnight. Our connection at DFW was in a distant terminal, but they supplied us with a rather speedy jitney ride to the proper gate. Our flight back to Philadelphia took about four hours. Because of the length of the flights and flying eastbound we arrived in midafternoon of Wednesday.

Arriving in Philadelphia on time after our four-hour flight,. we collected our baggage and waited curbside for Sierra's father. We had arranged for Sierra's father Jonathan to pick us up at the airport. We did not have long to wait, and before long we were back home. We were pretty tired, but glad to be back home again. Although it was a nice day in Wilmington it didn't compare to the lovely weather we had had in Hawaii. When we arrived home Sierra was busy telling her mother, father, and little brother about her adventures in Hawaii.
