Return to Wolves Home Page

On Thursday morning we went on an interpretive hike. Actually there were two hikes. One was a longer one for the children which was about 4 miles around a small lake. The other was mainly for the parents and was about a mile along a nice path beside the lake. We saw interesting flowers, several large anthills and a number of interpretive signs. We ended up at the site of an abandoned iron mine. The rusting structures hardly indicated that at one point this mine was returning thousands of dollars a month to the investors while the miners work for a pittance. There was also a core sample from a drilling.
